Sybase And Its Four Most Innovative Enterprise Users (TechWave)

What do the UK’s largest mobile operator, a huge Argentine healthcare group, a leading Ukraine bank, and a fast-growing mobile ISV have in common?

They are all being honored at this week’s Sybase TechWave annual user conference with our 2010 Innovator Awards.

Here’s a short sketch of how each of these firms is using Sybase technology in cutting-edge ways:

Formed out of the merger of T-Mobile UK and Orange UK, Everything Everywhere is the UK’s largest communications company, with 30 million customers and 700 retail stores. The mobile operator worked with Sybase 365 to build an Intelligent Routeback solution that uses Sybase 365′s peerless reach to other operators around the world (nearly 1,000). This messaging platform has helped Everything Everywhere boost revenues, cut operational costs and provide better service to customers.

Swiss Medical Group is Argentina’s leading prepaid healthcare group, with 20,000 professionals and 3,000 medical providers. To address an explosive growth in patient information (and queries, too), SMG migrated its databases to Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 15 Cluster Edition, as well as moved its corporate data to an external provider and changed its hardware architecture. The result? 2x the processing capacity as before.

Raiffeisen Bank Aval had a problem: reports took too long to arrive due to lack of access to comprehensive historical data, as well as the time-consuming labor involved in creating these reports. The solution for this leading Ukraine bank? Building a data storage solution based on Sybase IQ analytics server that collected data from the bank’s various transactional servers. IQ”s fast performance enables Raiffesen to get all of the data it needs and produce reports on time at a low cost.

msc mobile helps companies extend their SAP applications out to their field service workers. It does so with its MOMENTUM solution, developed on top of our Sybase Unwired Platform. This enables field technicians to access work orders, document what they’ve been working on at the point of inspection, and synchronize with SAP ERP systems. MOMENTUM is also easy to use, and lets managers get a peek into their workers’ productivity, too.
